Buyers

Registration - All intending purchasers must first register www.easyliveauction.com or directly in person with the office to obtain a bid number. This will require identification in the form of a driver’s licence or similar.

The Auctioneers claim the right of refusing admission to, and ejecting from, the Salerooms any person or persons, of refusing the bid of any person, withdrawing or amending any lot, regulating the increments of the bids. The Auctioneers to be the sole arbitrators in any matter arising during or out of the sale.

Bidding - The Buyer shall be the person making the highest bid which is acceptable to the Auctioneer on the fall of the hammer. In the case of a dispute the Auctioneer if they see fit may re-offer the lot at his discretion. The Auctioneer’s decision is final. The Buyer shall be deemed to be principal unless to the knowledge of the Auctioneer the Buyer is acting as agent on behalf of a named principal.

Buyer’s Premium - shall be charged on the Hammer Price of each lot at 22% payable by the buyer to the Auctioneers. This charge is subject to VAT at the current rate and is non recoverable.

Unless otherwise stated all lots are sold within the Auctioneers margin scheme.

Payment – All lots must be paid in full before collection. All collections must be made within 3 working days of the final day of the sale, where after charges will be incurred at a rate of £5.00 per lot per day.
Payment may be in the form of Debit or Credit Card (no charge) Cash (to a maximum of £5000.00)or Bank Transfer

Buyer’s Liability – The Buyer shall not become the owner of any lot until the purchase price is paid in full but shall after the fall of the hammer be responsible for any damage or loss of the lot. If after 10days the Buyer is in default of full payment the lot may be resold and the Buyer shall be responsible for any deficiency together with all expenses.

Absentee Bidding – The Auctioneers are prepared to accept absentee bidding on the understanding that intending purchasers leaving bids have viewed the lots and have satisfied themselves of authenticity and condition of each lot. Bids may be submitted by the written bid forms provided within the Saleroom prior to the Auction commencing. The Auctions cannot be held responsible for bids given to the Auction Porters. For higher value lots telephone bids can be arranged prior to the Sale.

Catalogue – The Auctioneers undertake that reasonable care has been taken to produce catalogue descriptions that are accurate and reliable, these descriptions are only given as an aid to respective purchasers who must fully satisfy themselves on accuracy of description and condition of each lot prior to bidding.

No warranty is given by the Auctioneers in respect of any lot and all implied conditions or warranties whether imposed by the Sale of Goods Act 1979 or otherwise.

All lots are sold as seen with all faults, imperfections and errors of description whether expressly identified in the catalogue description or not.

Condition reports – we will give an honest opinion as to damage, authenticity or restoration of any lot. We can give no guarantees as to the above and would always recommend a personal viewing.

Liability – Every person on Iain M Smith Auctioneers premises at any time shall be deemed to be there at their own risk. They shall have no claim against Iain M Smith, Auctioneers in respect of any accident which may occur or injury, damage or loss howsoever caused.
Shipping Policy

Local Furniture Deliveries can be arranged through the Office.

Postage and Packing of Lots can be done in house through our own packing team.

Advance estimates can be given via 'Ask The Question' on the relevant Lot Number and all other Postage and Packing Quotes will be issued on the week following the sale.
